Bridge Work by LPC Casey's - What To Expect
The Big Creek Overflow Bridge on highway 218 by Casey's in La Porte City is under construction - the Iowa DOT website states that this is a bridge replacement project, and that one lane of the bridge will remain open during the construction.
At the time of writing this, the south-bound side of the bridge is closed, and there are temporary traffic signals to alternate north/south traffic over the one lane of the bridge. Traffic should flow fairly normally during non-peak times. During commute times, you may want to bypass the bridgework - just hang a right onto Main Street, which connects to highway 218 across from Compressed Air & Equipment.
This project is scheduled to be finished by late September.
